Where is Dominique Easley, former Pariots draft bust who’s thriving after NFL? (2025)

Remember Dominique Easley? As the New England Patriots’ first-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the defensive tackle’s football career didn’t meet expectations. But since leaving football, he’s found success in real estate and construction. Here’s what Easley is up to these days:

Where are former Patriots now? Dominique Easley (2014-2015)

Easley now lives in Woodstock, Georgia -- 30 minutes north of Atlanta -- and has a successful career fixing and flipping houses through multiple business ventures.

After moving to Georgia in 2022, Easley got his real estate license and began working as an agent for an Atlanta-based realtor.

In 2024, he and business partner Thomas Hunter started their own “fix and flip” business, Loud 27 House LLC. Easley is also an investor in Shedd’s Construction LLC, which is based in Woodstock.

After a standout college career at Florida, Easley entered the 2014 draft as a high-upside prospect. He had potential as an explosive defensive tackle, but also carried some injury red flags. Those concerns led to him dropping to New England at No. 29 overall.

Easley showed some flashes of potential early in his career. However, the injury bug wound up biting him in the pros. The defensive lineman ended his first two seasons on injured reserve.

Easley won a Super Bowl with New England in February of 2015. Just over a year later, he was cut by the Patriots in a surprise move.

“That destroyed me,” Easley said about his Patriots career coming crashing down.

Easley went on to spend three seasons in the Los Angeles Rams organization. He missed Super Bowl LIII against the Patriots after he was placed on IR following yet another surgery in 2018. This one signalled the end of his football career.

Since leaving the game, Easley has been vocal about his struggles, both physical and mental.

“Football was more of a traumatic experience. It was a great experience, but it also was a big traumatic experience for me as well,” he said in a 2024 interview. “When it came to my personal relationships and just me as a person, I was not able to actually work on myself.”

Easley added that he still views his football career as a “blessing” and has grown as a person since his retirement.

Still, it hasn’t been easy.

The former Patriot says he underwent a total of 15 surgeries, three of which were for ACL reconstruction. He says he developed an addiction to opioids as a result of all of the procedures.

Those struggles led the former first-round pick to start the Easley Foundation, which aims to support the mental health of athletes and their families.

A lot has changed for Easley since he left football. When he arrived in the NFL, he weighed around 290 pounds. By the time he got his real estate license, he’d trimmed down to 250.

He’s tried his hand at playing guitar and piloting planes. As of last year, he had 13 hours in the air. He also got his cannabis cultivation license up in New Jersey a couple of years ago.

However, real estate has been his main business focus. That career started when he bought a foreclosed property in Philadelphia for $16,000, only to discover it was missing its back wall.

Back in 2022, Easley appeared on season seven of “Below Deck Mediterranean” as the star guest of a yacht charter. Easley was the subject of a minor kerfuffle when he was unhappy with an order of pancakes.

Easley told the yacht’s chef that he wanted thin pancakes with crispy edges. The chef then made Easley an order of crepes. Easley did not want crepes.

The resulting disagreement led to a funny scene in the episode, which was titled, “Stuck in the Griddle With You.”

“I just wanted some (expletive) pancakes that were crispy,” Easley said in the scene.

Easley was back in Foxborough recently. He was one of the players who returned to Gillette Stadium last season to be part of the 10-year anniversary of the Patriots’ 2014 championship team.
